Iceland
At just 15 million years old the country is one of the youngest, formed by volcanic action along the N Atlantic fault and where the earth’s crust is very thin; as such 90% of the country is uninhabitable, mainly lava fields, some still active. It also contains Europe’s largest waterfall and Glacier. I visited the country in the summer of 1989 and in the winter of 2014.
